AIP, JKPM enter into pre-poll; will form next Govt: Er Rasheed | KNO

Srinagar, June 18 (KNO) : In a significant development, Awami Itehad Party (AIP) and J&K Peoples Movement entered into an alliance for the upcoming assembly elections under the banner of People’s United Front (PUF). Addressing a press conference at Kashmir Press Club Srinagar, it was announced that the functioning of the alliance will be monitored by a 6 member co-ordination committee with 3 members from the each party. Announcing the alliance co-ordination committee chairman Javiad Mustafa Mir read out a written statement “In view of the prevailing political circumstances in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, Awami Itehaad Party and J&K People’s Movement have decided to enter into a pre-poll Alliance and gather under the banner of ‘People’s United Front’. The Alliance has been necessitated by the ongoing political uncertainty in the State, apprehensions with regard to assault on the special status and the absence of any credible political alternative in the State that could address both the political vacuum and the and the absence of good Governance. People’s United Front will make all efforts to unite all people of the State, irrespective of religion, region, caste and creed and seek for all citizens of the state equal opportunities and social, economic and political justice. All Alliance shall follow the duly agreed upon Common Agenda for Alliance and function under a joint coordination committee comprising three members from JKPM and AIP each and shall be headed by Javaid Mustafa Mir, Chairman JKPM”. On the occasion, Er Rasheed as per Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the alliance is not against any individual, party, community or region but is aimed at providing people of entire state a durable, workable and strong political alternative which would give them not only best Governance but will also do whatever possible and required to find a permanent resolution to the political issue that may suit the sentiments, sacrifices and aspirations of people of erstwhile state of J&K. Answering a question, Er Rasheed expressed confidence that People’s United Front will form the Government on its own as people of J&K have a right to live with honor and dignity and get what they deserve. On the occasion JKPM President Shah Faesal said that the alliance will not let down people of the state and will deliver on all fronts. Dr. Shah Faesal expressed the pledge that alliance is committed to protect not only article 35a or 370 but will struggle sincerely to achieve what has been snatched or what the people of the state deserve. PUF will provide good governance and strive to give justice to people of all regions and religions. On the occasion a 45 point common agenda of alliance was also released unveiling the Alliance’s road map over various important political and Governance issues.(KNO)
